Thomas Rivera Endowment

Mission Statement

The Tomás Rivera Endowment’s working mission statement is “to promote the life, legacy and vision of Tomás Rivera.” With this in mind, we support educational, research and cultural arts activities that enhance the creative expression of students, schools, cultural agencies and local communities. Since 2005, we have sponsored seven major fields of diversity enhancement (they are listed on the right). The major project of the Tomás Rivera Endowment is putting on the Tomás Rivera Conference, now in its 20th year. Next year, we plan to continue the efforts already set in motion and most of all focus on the 21st Annual Tomás Rivera Conference at UCR. The theme will be Children and the Media, with an emphasis on Cartoon Animation production. To this effect, we will seek to invite major figures in television and the motion picture industry. The event will take place in April, 2008

Future Diversity Activities

This questionnaire will of course stimulate a faculty discussion of what we should be doing, over and above what Students Affairs and Provost’s office does for us.
