Student Life Mission
Student Life is dedicated to the education and development of UCR’s diverse student body and to creating a meaningful, learning centered campus life for students at the University. Student Life works in active partnership with student, faculty, and staff colleagues to foster and support student opportunities for learning, involvement, leadership, community building, and creative expression that complement classroom experiences. Student Life further supports student organizations and their leaders, and they in turn provide programs and resources to the student body and the wider University community.
Associated Students Program Board (ASPB) provides cultural programming throughout the academic year. Programs include the International Food Fair, cultural weeks/months (Black History Month, Middle Eastern Awareness Week, etc.) cultural films as part of a film series, and lectures, just to name a few. There are traditional programs and activities which occur every year, new programs that are introduced throughout the year. Contact the ASPB Advisor, Iselda Salgado at 827-3470 for more information.
Student Life’s programs are open to the entire campus. Although not target specifically as diversity programs, we program for the diverse needs of the student body. Any of our programs marketed toward student organizations also include would include student organizations that have identified as cultural groups.
Student Life and Associated Students Program Board (ASPB) will continue to provide programs for the diverse student body. ASPB has various programs planned for spring quarter. Student Life is co-sponsoring programs with other departments during spring quarter, as well as providing leadership programs for students, and workshops for student organizations.
