Diversity Activities
The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is active in:
- “Minds for Design” - Engineering for middle school aged Girl Scouts (Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council)
- Awarded GAANN Fellowship for Bioengineering and Chemical and Environmental Engineering
- USDA Outreach Award - Joint project with RCC for underrepresented students to work in the lab at UCR.MSRIP (Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program)
- UC LEADS (UC Leadership Excellence through Advanced Degrees)
- "Day in the Lab” – outreach activity for local school children grades 6-12.
Future Diversity Activities
The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering continues to:
- Pursue funding for outreach and educational activities
- Increase the number of diversity related conferences attended for graduate student/faculty recruiting
