Diversity Activities

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is active in:

  1. “Minds for Design”  - Engineering for middle school aged Girl Scouts (Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council)
  2. Awarded GAANN Fellowship for Bioengineering and Chemical and Environmental Engineering
  3. USDA Outreach Award  - Joint project with RCC for underrepresented students to work in the lab at UCR.MSRIP (Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program)
  4. UC LEADS (UC Leadership Excellence through Advanced Degrees)
  5. "Day in the Lab” – outreach activity for local school children grades 6-12.

Future Diversity Activities

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering continues to:

  1. Pursue funding for outreach and educational activities
  2. Increase the number of diversity related conferences attended for graduate student/faculty recruiting
