Diversity Activities

The Dean’s Office is engaged in the following diversity activities:

1. Cluster hires in African-American Studies and Middle-Eastern/Islamic Studies.  Sample ad attached.
2. CHASS Theme this year is “Immigration” with numerous lectures, exhibitions, classes on the theme.  Newsletter attached.
3. We are committed to ensuring diversity in hiring of both faculty and staff and demand that applicant pools are diverse before searches can proceed.
4. We regularly publicize diversity efforts through our quarterly newsletter. Newsletter attached.

Future Diversity Activities

We will continue with the activities outlined above.  Cluster hires will be identified based on departmental, college, and campus priorities.
