The UCR offices of the Vice Chancellor Student Affairs are dedicated to advancing a community that promulgates student diversity in all its aspects. Besides interacting with more than 17,000 students from around the globe (43 percent Asian, 25 percent Latino, 18 percent white, 7 percent African American, .3 percent Native American, and 6.7 percent other ethnicity/decline to state), the offices forward students and diversity in a university selected alongside a highly touted few such diverse institutions nationwide.
According to U.S. News and World Report, the campus has the fifth most ethnically diverse student body in America, per an index that factors the preponderance of American Indians and Native Alaskans, Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, African-Americans who are non-Hispanic, whites who are non-Hispanic, and Hispanics. Add to that the fact that the institution is deemed the campus of choice in The Chronicle of Higher Education (more details ), Los Angeles Times, KTLA, topix.net, and The New York Sun (more details ), and you have a campus that is a giant among its peers. In addition to its many offerings, its students engage the plethora of diversity-oriented venues provided through the Division of Student Affairs:
