THE FIRST STUDENT DIVERSITY SUMMIT AT UC RIVERSIDE

UCR is a disparate intellectual and social environment. The Student Diversity and Success Summit was one in a series of summits that addresses our diversity. While the first two included dimensions of faculty and staff diversity, this, the third, forwarded undergraduate students. The undergraduate experience and retention are integral to student pluralism. The goal of the summit was to advance the campus student climate, generally, and learning and growth, specifically. The summit was designed to promote critical thinking, discourse, and problem-solving through informative, instructional and decision-making platforms in individual and group formats on a broad range of issues impacting diverse students. Both members of the campus body and community were encouraged to take part. Participants helped prioritize the recommendations from the Final Report of the Task Force on Student Success.
