Dr. Adrienne Sims

Campus Diversity and Leadership Fellow/Director Women’s Resource Center

Dr. Adrienne SimsAs director of the Women’s Resource Center and Vice President/President-Elect of Staff Assembly at UCR, Dr. Adrienne Sims serves the interests of the campus’s women and men. In her more than ten years of employment, Sims has been involved in strategic planning, co-curricular program development/assessment, and human and fiscal resource management. Among her honors are the Presidents Forum Award for advancing student achievement, from the American Association of Higher Education; the Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award from Omicron Tau Theta (national graduate honor society), The Press-Enterprise/YWCA Women of Achievement Award, and the Women of Distinction Award from The Business Press. In addition to holding past offices as President-Elect of the Continuing Education Faculty Association at Rancho Santiago College and Vice President of Education for the International Association for Financial Planning, she currently serves as Western Region Coordinator for the California Women’s Agenda and Co-Chair of the UC Diversity Educators. Sims has a bachelors in English from the University of California at Irvine, a masters in counseling from California State University at Los Angeles, a doctorate in institutional management from Pepperdine University, and seven certifications through UCI and ThomsonNETg:  Diversity Development, Managing High Performing Teams, Project Management, Business Law Essentials, Risk Assessment and Control, Employee Conflict Management, and Managing Diversity in the Workplace. In encapsulating her background, Sims says, “Developing and sustaining services for our female and male clientele is fortuitous.”
